Tandem-X Elevation Data

Tandem-X Elevation Data

The TanDEM- X 90m DEM is a product variant of the global Digital Elevation Model (DEM) acquired in the frame of the German TanDEM- X mission between 2010 and 2015, and has a reduced pixel spacing of 3 arcseconds, which corresponds to 90m at the equator.

TDX (TanDEM-X: TerraSAR-X add-on for Digital Elevation Measurement) TSX/TanDEM-X is a high-resolution interferometric SAR mission of DLR (German Aerospace Center), together with the partners EADS Astrium GmbH and Infoterra GmbH in a PPP (Public Private Partnership) consortium. The mission concept is based on a second TerraSAR-X (TSX) radar …

TanDEM-X can visualize these elevation differences in much greater detail, with a vertical accuracy of better than two meters. By mid-2016, scientists at DLR had created a precise three-dimensional elevation model of the entirety of Earth’s landmass using data acquired by the TanDEM-X mission.

The 90-metre TanDEM-X Digital Elevation Model has been released for scientific use and is now available as a global dataset. By providing this data, the German Aerospace Center follows the EU data policy under the Copernicus Earth observation programme, which encourages free and open access to satellite data. [full article], TanDEM-X – Wikipedia, EOC Geoservice Data Guide, TanDEM-X. TanDEM-X data is a reflective surface elevation dataset produced at a ground sample distance of approximately 12 meters. TanDEM-X data may be either raw (TDR) or finished (TDF). The TDR product is the result of a fully automated processing chain and may still contain undesirable artifacts.

TanDEM-X 90m DEM or TanDEM-X 90m DEM products) as defined below is granted by the German Aerospace Center (DLR) to the User. This license is free of charge, but exclusively granted for scientific use. A licence for commercial use of the TanDEM-X 90m DEM data .

2/1/2020  · The TanDEM-X outperforms the AW3D30 and all other global DEMs. The RMSEs of the TanDEM-X range from 1.0 to 8.7 m while the RMSEs of the AW3D30, of the ASTER, of the SRTM30 and the SRTM90 range from 2.6 to 49.0 m, from 8.3 to 80.2 m, from 3.0 to 8.7 m and from 7.3 to 20.5 m, respectively. 3.

TerraSAR-X and TanDEM- X data can be processed using the PolSARpro tool. PolSARpro (Polarimetric SAR data Processing and Education) supports the scientific exploitation of polarimetric SAR data and is a tool for high-level education in radar polarimetry.
